Liposuction

Liposuction is one of the most sought-after and popular procedures in plastic and aesthetic surgery. By permanently removing excess fat, it refines the shape and contours of the body.

Permanent removal of stubborn fat that resists exercise

Liposuction is the right companion on the journey to your desired figure whenever stubborn pockets of fat refuse to leave problem areas — no matter how hard you try. That is exactly where liposuction is most effective and worthwhile.

It's right for you if…

  • you are troubled by well-defined fat deposits in problem areas — typically the abdomen, hips, or inner and outer thighs,
  • your weight is otherwise normal and stable,
  • the fat deposits resist both exercise and changes to your diet,
  • you are looking for a permanent solution with a quick return to everyday life.
  • Liposuction does not treat overweight or obesity and is no substitute for exercise or a healthy lifestyle.
Our method

Tumescent liposuction

Tumescent liposuction, the technique we use at our clinic, is the most effective and most advantageous of all fat-removal methods. 'Tumescent' means that subcutaneous fat is permanently removed with a thin cannula after the treated area has been infiltrated with a so-called tumescent solution. Its composition numbs the entire area, reduces bleeding, and later improves healing.

Because of its high anaesthetic content, the solution can only be used in limited quantities, so it is not possible to treat all problem areas at once. The extent of the procedure depends on the amount and distribution of subcutaneous fat and is therefore entirely individual. Larger-scale liposuction can only be performed under general anaesthesia, which, however, places unnecessary strain on the body.

It all starts with a consultation

A consultation with a plastic surgeon is essential before the procedure. The surgeon assesses the condition and elasticity of your skin and the amount of subcutaneous fat in the problem area, and evaluates how feasible the procedure is. They will discuss your expectations, explain what we can realistically achieve, and help you envision the result.

Five steps to new contours

The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis in the operating room under sterile conditions and local anaesthesia, and is very well tolerated.

  1. 01

    Marking and tumescent solution

The surgeon marks the area to be treated and uses a pump to inject it with tumescent solution, which numbs the entire area.

This is usually the most uncomfortable part of the whole procedure.
  2. 02

    The anaesthetic takes effect

Full numbness sets in after about 30–40 minutes. You then feel no pain during the fat removal.

  3. 03

    Fat removal

Using a scalpel, the surgeon makes tiny incisions in the skin and inserts a thin cannula into the subcutaneous tissue. Its movements break up the fat cells, which are then suctioned out under pressure.

If the fat is being transferred elsewhere — for example in buttock augmentation — the surgeon removes it with a sterile syringe (lipofilling).
  4. 04

    Stitches and sterile dressing

Once the fat has been removed, the surgeon closes the tiny incisions with stitches and covers them with a sterile dressing.

  5. 05

    Heading home

Right after the procedure, once we have helped you into your compression garment, you are free to go home.

What to expect after the procedure

Day 0

You go home in your compression garment. For the first 24 hours, tumescent solution may leak from the tiny incisions — this is completely normal.

Days 1–3

You can resume everyday activities within a few days; returning to work as early as the next day is possible.

Days 7–9

You come in for a check-up and to have your stitches removed.

Weeks 4–6

You wear the compression garment 24 hours a day, taking it off only for personal hygiene. Once the soreness subsides, massage and roll the area regularly.

Month 3

The final result appears once the swelling has fully subsided — which can take up to 3 months and is entirely individual.

Because of the swelling, we recommend avoiding strenuous physical activity for 3–4 weeks after the procedure; ease back into sports gradually.

Do you long for the perfect figure, but can't achieve the results you want in those problem areas? Then liposuction is the procedure made just for you!

Liposuction pricing

Prices are per treated area. When several areas are treated at once, the total is not the sum of the individual prices — it is lower.

Under local anaesthesia

  • Liposuction — 1 area 1,170 €
  • Liposuction — 2 areas 1,670 €
  • Liposuction — 3 areas 2,170 €
  • Liposuction — submental (chin) 500 €

Under general anaesthesia

  • Liposuction — 1 area 1,420 €
  • Liposuction — 2 areas 2,090 €
  • Liposuction — 3 areas 2,760 €

The price includes local anaesthesia, the procedure itself, and follow-up check-ups. You purchase the compression garment in advance, as recommended by your surgeon.

These prices apply to procedures from 1 January 2027. If your procedure is booked for 2026, the price quoted when you booked still applies.

We speak openly with you

The risks of liposuction include asymmetry and surface irregularities, infection, and bruising (hematomas). The risk of irregularities is minimised by using very thin cannulas during the procedure and by following the aftercare regimen — wearing the compression garment, massaging, and rolling the area.

The final result, however, also depends on the quality of your skin, so even with the finest surgical work this risk can never be ruled out entirely.

Three weeks before the procedure

To avoid unnecessary bruising after the procedure, do not take any preparations that affect blood clotting for about 3 weeks beforehand — medicines containing salicylic acid, Paralen (paracetamol), or enzyme preparations such as Wobenzym.

If you take warfarin or a similar medication, please discuss its use with your prescribing doctor.

Dr. Chaloupková is incredibly kind, absolutely wonderful and human. And the nurse is just as lovely. Out of fear (lipo) I wanted to leave… well, let me tell you.. I have never in my life laughed as much as during that hour and a half in the “theatre”😂 Thank you for the perfect approach. You are great, and if you are hesitating, I recommend them wholeheartedly. From now on, only here. ♥️

Frequently asked questions — liposuction

Liposuction is a good fit if you are troubled by well-defined fat deposits in problem areas — typically the abdomen, hips, or inner and outer thighs — and your weight is otherwise normal and stable. It does not treat overweight or obesity and is no substitute for exercise or a healthy lifestyle. Whether the procedure is right for your particular case will be decided by the surgeon at a free consultation, where they assess your skin elasticity and the amount of subcutaneous fat.
Most commonly we perform liposuction of the abdomen, chin, hips, inner and outer thighs, knees, and arms.
No. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia: tumescent solution is injected into the subcutaneous tissue with a pump, numbing the entire treated area so that you feel no pain during the fat removal. The numbing itself is usually the most uncomfortable part of the whole procedure.
After the procedure you will probably feel mild pain in the treated area, similar to a bruise or a knock; an ordinary over-the-counter painkiller is usually all you need.
Yes. You should expect considerable swelling and bruising after the procedure. The swelling can be significant enough that the treated area may look even larger than before, so the final result won't be visible right away.
The final result becomes visible after several weeks, once the swelling has completely subsided — which can take up to 3 months and is entirely individual.
Wearing a compression garment after liposuction is essential. The garment fits snugly around the treated area, helping the skin adhere to the underlying tissue and adapt to the area's new shape. It effectively replaces pressure massage and prevents irregularities and bruising. It needs to be worn for 4–6 weeks, 24 hours a day, and taken off only briefly for personal hygiene. After chin liposuction, compression is worn for just 2 weeks.
No. You purchase the compression garment your surgeon recommends at the consultation yourself, so that you have it ready on the day of the procedure and can wear it home afterwards.
It always depends on the extent and location of the liposuction, but in general there are few restrictions. You can return to work as early as the next day — just be prepared for some discomfort, for example when sitting.
Because of the swelling, we recommend avoiding strenuous physical activity for 3–4 weeks after the procedure and easing back into sports gradually.
The removal of fat cells is permanent, and fat should no longer accumulate in the treated area as markedly as before. If you gain weight, however, the treated area can of course increase in volume as well. To maintain your result, we recommend sticking to a healthy lifestyle.
Irregularities do not always develop after liposuction — it depends on many factors, including the quality of the skin in the problem area, the presence of stretch marks, and the amount of fat removed. To minimise the risk, the surgeon uses very thin cannulas. By following the aftercare regimen — wearing the compression garment and massaging and rolling the area regularly — you minimise the risk yourself as well.
As soon as the soreness subsides and you can comfortably touch the treated area.
If you are overweight or obese, it is not possible to remove all the fat, so unfortunately liposuction cannot help you. The right approach is to lose weight naturally first, through lifestyle changes and exercise; the remaining pockets of fat can then be removed, and large folds of excess skin can be removed surgically if needed. Liposuction can only remove subcutaneous fat, not visceral fat, which surrounds the internal organs — so large, protruding bellies, especially in men, are beyond its reach. In these cases it is essential to adjust your diet and follow a healthy lifestyle, because a large amount of visceral fat — unlike subcutaneous fat — is almost always associated with high blood lipid levels and therefore with serious health risks.
